As Father John begins preparing for his new role as Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of Los Angeles, many have asked what they might do in the way of a good-bye gift. Since each new bishop requires specialized vestments, along with other items – chasubles in the four main liturgical colors, cassock, alb, rochet, crozier, miter (and the list goes on) – might we suggest a donation to help St. John’s effort to properly attire our soon-to-be Bishop?

Who knew (okay, probably most of you) that the Bishop had such an extensive wardrobe! Not sure I agree that “clothes make the man”, but in this case they most definitely distinguish the Bishop from the priest : )

If you would like to contribute, please make your check payable to St. John’s Church, with the word “vestments” written on the memo line. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at djgomer@cox.net.
