Lectio Divina: Guiding Your Lenten Observance

Whether your Lenten observance includes abstinence (giving something up), action (living out your faith) or reflection (prayer, fasting, or repentance), adding Lectio Divina will deepen your experience. Because Lectio is a powerful reading of scripture that opens our hearts to hear what God is saying to us, Lent is an excellent time to take up the practice. We will have special reading selections that are Lenten-themed. You’ll find Lectio a simple practice with a profound effect. Join the Lectio Divina group Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. in the Bride’s Room.

Finding God At The Movies For Our Younger Church Members

For the four Sundays in Lent (March 1, 8, 15, 22), our young people will have their own movie during the 9 a.m. Christian Formation hour. The first DVD is “What is in the Bible.” It is a fast-paced, fun-filled series taking children through the entire Bible, one book at a time. The series utilizes puppets, songs, and is informative and fun for old and young alike. All school age children are welcome. Parents attending the Christian Formation hour are welcome to sign their children in downstairs by 9 a.m. sharp — the video will start promptly at 9:10. We continue to offer nursery care for our smallest members during the 9 a.m. education hour.
