Celebrate The Diocese’s 150th Year of Parish Ministry In SoCal

The famed Disney Concert Hall will host a celebration of the Episcopal Church’s 150th year of parish ministry in Southern California Friday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will consist of organ, brass, and choir, and will feature and honor six Greater LA parish organist—choirmasters in recital. Until Friday, March 27, each parish has been allotted 12 seats. Any seats not taken after that will be open for general assignment to individuals through the bishop’s office. If you wish a ticket, send an email to Mo. Martha, mjohns@stjohns-es.org, with your name and phone number. Reservations will be submitted together so that all the seats will be together. Parking is $9/car. Carpooling is encouraged.

Cornell University Choir In Concert At St. John’s

For those not attending the St. John's School gala next Saturday, March 28, please join us at St. John’s as we provide a venue for Cornell University’s Southern California tour. The Cornell University Chorus is an all-female, student-run choral ensemble founded in 1921 to advance women in the arts by creating a strong community that promotes musical diversity, leadership, and excellence. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the Church. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students and can be purchased at the door.

Women's Movie And Dinner Night - Wednesday, March 25

We will gather Wednesday to see “McFarland, USA,” a film based on the true story of Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner) and how he coaches a group of Mexican-American kids to run their hearts out, training in the same fields where many of them worked. The movie follows this 1987 team to the state championships. We’ll see the film at 4:15 p.m. at Regal Foothill Towne Center, 26602 Towne Center Drive, Foothill Ranch and then have dinner about 6:45 p.m. at Peppino’s.
