My brothers and sisters in Christ:
Below please find a midsummer report to the men of St. John’s by Gene Giordano on behalf of our crackerjack men’s ministry team (in the photo, taken during their planning meeting yesterday: George Colborn, Steve Mysko, Gene, and Roger Bradshaw).
If you or someone you know is eligible to receive these updates directly but isn’t getting them yet, please send the name and e-mail address to Gene at email@example.com. Our leadership team is also looking for new members. If you’re interested, please let Gene know that as well.
Thanks to our ministry leaders and to all who support their good work with prayers, hard work, attendance (and blood!).
Yours in Christ’s love,

Greetings on this 4th of July!
Hopefully, you were able to join us for our day at Angel stadium on June 27th. The turnout of 93 people was clearly more than expected when the Men’s Committee initially discussed the event. From the many positive comments we received after, and similar to the Angels result, the day proved to be a winner. Special thanks to Bill Hageman and Cindy and Sandy in the church office for their efforts in helping us coordinate this together.
Sign-ups for our Red Cross Blood Drive are under way and your support is especially needed. The Drive will be held on Sunday, July 26th from 8am to 2:15pm. Please look for the sign-up table in the Narthex or just outside. If you are unable to donate, please think about volunteering to assist with sign-ins and post donation refreshments the day of the drive. Your support is appreciated.
This year’s Men’s retreat weekend will be held on the first week of October; beginning Friday night, the 3rd, through Sunday morning. Signs-ups will start in a few weeks with more information to come. I hope you will be able to join us for this great weekend of fellowship and reflection.
Our next fellowship event is scheduled for the evening of September 23rd. We will be holding one of our popular Open Forum events at BJ’s here in Rancho Santa Margarita.
Enjoy this holiday weekend, enjoy the summer, and don’t forget to support our Blood Drive by signing up to donate or volunteer.
