My sisters and brothers in Christ:

You can walk even deeper into Advent this Saturday from 2-5 p.m. during our annual Quiet Day. This year’s theme: “The World is Waiting; I Am Waiting,” finding the connection and balance between Christ coming for the world’s sake and Christ coming for your and my sake. All the details are in the link below. You can drop in without signing up for any activity except yoga, for which Spiritual Path organizer Linda Allport needs word in advance. Her contact information is in this link. Advent Quiet Day 2015
If you’re reading Fr. Richard Rohr’s book of Advent reflections, please come talk about what you’re discovering with Mo. Martha and me in the Bishop’s Room at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
While you’re at church this weekend, please pick up a “Yule Love Christmas at St. John’s” sticker for every vehicle in your fleet plus a couple more for your neighbors (which we do not recommend you affix without their permission!). And be sure to give us your instructions for Christmas flowers using the special envelope available in the narthex. The deadline is next Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Yours in Christ’s love, Fr. John
P.S.: The Festival Singers extend a special invitation to St. John’s members to “A Taste of the Holidays” this Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. at the Lake Forest Sun and Sail Club. Their hilarious rendition of “The !2 Days After Christmas” is worth the price of admission –speaking of which, tickets at the door are available to church members for a discounted $12. All the details are in this link. Festival Singers Winter 2015
P.P.S.: As of this writing, we have 100 pledges in the church office thanks to the generosity and love of the people of St. John’s. Thank you! Forty more, and we shatter 2015’s record number! Blessings on your continued discernment.
