My sisters and brothers in Christ:

We worship as usual this weekend: Our convenient community Holy Eucharist service today (Saturday, Jan. 9) at 5 p.m. and on the first Sunday after the Epiphany at 8 and 10 a.m., when we’ll hear about the baptism of Jesus Christ and the beginning of his public ministry. That’s the church calendar for you: Christmas, Epiphany — and, so soon, the beginning of our LORD’s walk toward Calvary and Easter. Please join us!

During the 9 a.m. Christian formation hour tomorrow, please join us in the Bishop’s Room for the first installment of “An Epiphany Search for God at the Movies”: A conversation about the spiritual and moral dimensions of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” facilitated by Pam Kelley and assisted by Mo. Martha and me. The series continues next Sunday, Jan. 17 with Linda Allport leading a discussion of “Lars And The Real Girl,” Jan. 24 (Daniele Struppa, “The Seventh Seal”), and Feb. 7 (Andy Guilford, “A Man for All Seasons”). Let Mo. Martha and me know if you have trouble finding the movies on Amazon or iTunes. Also, Linda has a copy of “Lars” available for loan.

Yours in Christ’s love, Fr. John
