One service only this weekend! At 10 a.m. on Sunday, let’s be together as one community as we worship God, joyfully say thank you to all our lay ministers, and then head for the Cardinal Cafe, in the shadow of the new Johnson STEAM Center, for a family BBQ complete with games for the kids, including water balloons. Again, we’ll offer no service on Saturday evening or at 8 a.m. Sunday.
+ Godly Play is underway at St. John’s! Sheryll Grogan’s photo at left shows our historic first class last Sunday. With Godly Play, pre-schoolers and kindergarteners are invited into Bible stories as never before. Sunday School continues as usual for first through fifth graders. Just bring the kids downstairs, and our staff and volunteers will assist you. Please tell your family, friends, and neighbors about this wonderful new ministry.
+ Join us this Saturday (Sept. 17) at 9 a.m. for Inner-Coastal and Watershed Clean-Up Day. St. John’s folks will meet at Trabuco Canyon and Trabuco Creek Rds. Bring gloves, hat, trash bags, and reusable water bottles filled to the brim so you can hydrate while you work. Questions? Write the Green Team’s Gloria Sefton at gloriasefton@gmail.com.
+ If you’re new or relatively new to St. John’s, please join us next Sunday, Sept. 25 after the second service, or at about 11:30 a.m., in the multipurpose room for brunch in your honor. Your parish leaders will be there to meet and get to know you and give you a flavor of the ministries of our church. If you’re joining us, we need your signups Sunday in the narthex or via e-mail at ca@stjohns-es.org.
