Harvard Medical School and the Red Cross report that Volunteering is Good For You — and, oh, my! St. John’s has volunteer openings! Can you help?

If you need more info, or simply want to say, “Yes! Send me!” please get in touch with the lay leaders of these three ministries via church@stjohns-es.org

Three of our ministries have a need for additional volunteers; can you spare an hour or two a month? The ministries are:

• Caring About Precious Seniors, aka CAPS:
CAPS volunteers help at Park Terrace Senior Living in RSM each week. Volunteer on a Monday from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. and help solve crossword puzzles with the residents — don’t worry, answers are provided! Volunteer calling Bingo on a Thursday from 6:15—7:45 p.m. Training is provided. BONUS: This ministry is a great way for high school students to earn service hours! It only takes a couple of hours a month!

• 8 am Greeters:
Our Greeters ministry needs volunteers to serve at Sunday’s 8 a.m. service. It’s a great way to welcome new folks to our church and to answer questions. You only need to serve one Sunday a month, but serve more if you like!

• Isaiah House:
St. John’s serves breakfast to Isaiah House clients — a home offering shelter and assistance to homeless women — Saturday, October 14 at 9 a.m. If you can help, please shoot an email to church@stjohns-es.org, so you can be added to the volunteer roster. We’ll see you at Isaiah House, 316 South Cypress Avenue in Santa Ana.
