Join us this Saturday, December 21 at 7 p.m. for ‘Our Longest Night — OC Remembers’ at St. John’s. It’s an interfaith Candlelight Vigil service held annually to remember those who died homeless and without adequate food or health care in Orange County in 2019. The names of more than 200 brothers and sisters will be read during the commemoration.

Donations of winter gear and clothing will be gratefully accepted that night and passed on to homeless distribution groups for all who continue to struggle. And, as it happens, our December “Just One Thing” initiative dovetails with the Saturday memorial service. With our unsheltered neighbors in mind, St. John’s is gathering cold weather clothing and accessories. Most needed items include:  • sweatpants  • warm coats   • blankets   • sleeping bags  • beanies   • scarves   • gloves   • blue tarps/yoga mats  • wind-breaker jackets/ponchos with hoods  • rolling suitcase/duffle bags  • back packs

Your donations may be dropped in the box in the Narthex. Thank you for your ongoing support of our neighbors in need!
