Our Middle School and High School Youth groups met this week on Zoom and if you are a lover of riddles, see Joe Miramontes who held the Middle School group in thrall while we threw questions at him to solve his riddle: “I have an eye and a leg and no head. What am I?”

If you want the answer, see Joe. He didn’t make it easy for us, so we’re passing the joy of the journey along to you. Cheeky, right? That’s how Youth Group rolls.

Middle School YG welcomed several new members coming up from fifth grade — welcome to all!

High School Youth Groupers got into the two-part question “As our society moves toward reopening, what are you going to miss about quarantine, and what are you looking forward to?”Replies ranged from concern about people not wearing masks with the coronavirus still active, to *how* to be a mask-wearer while being among unmasked people; one YG member is still wrapping her head around what has become the new normal of quarantine and social distancing. Despite uncertainty about reopening, she found the mental reset of quarantine helpful because she enjoyed getting to know herself better. Another member looks forward to getting his driver’s license, another is hiking more and about to apply for a job.

The group wrapped up with this prayer said in unison:
God, help me to listen for your voice today. Help me to turn off all the noise so that just for a moment, I can hear you. Tell me who you want me to be. Tell me who you want me to bless this week. I am trying to listen. Thank you for your grace to me. Amen.

If you’re feeling uncertain about reopening, or just need centering, grab a screenshot of the prayer, and read it daily.
