BINGO! was the game this week in both Youth Group meetings. But in the High School group it was ongoing references to prime numbers that dominated the game. Turns out some YG members blow steam by discussing Eratosthenes’s discovery. Who knew?! We also got caught up on more self-portraits — see pics, below.

This week’s message of encouragement from Mrs. Patti was: “We have to be able to laugh at ourselves. Today I grabbed a piece of chocolate cake at school, but forgot I was wearing my face shield, and it smeared on the plastic. So I showed Mrs. Cole, the elementary secretary, and Nurse Missy, and we could not stop laughing! I’m too old and tired to be be worried about what other people think. It’s such a relief to reach that stage. I’m not perfect, I’m never gonna be perfect, and that’s fine. You could think you look awesome and be walking around with your skirt stuck in your pantyhose. Here’s what matters: God thinks you’re perfect. So laugh at yourself, be silly, and remember that God loves you.”

Group leaders are working on a masked and socially-distanced group hike in the next weeks, and the sacrament of confirmation with the Bishop in early November.

The two Youth Groups are going strong and are open to Middle Schoolers in grades six through eight, and High School and college kids. Want to attend the ZOOM meeting for your age group? Here’s how: shoot Mrs. Patti an email. Here’s the schedule: Middle School — grades six through eight — meets Tuesdays from 7 – 7:45 p.m.; High School meets Wednesdays from 7 – 7:45 p.m. The YG’s adult leaders are Mrs. Patti, Mr. and Mrs. Nichols, Mike Olivor, and Joe Miramontes.

See you online!
