Youth Groups are back from Christmas break!

Middle Schoolers heard a mini-talk on how God doesn’t need us to be perfect, but just wants us to be the best people we can be. Kids also shared about their Christmas break activities.

The High School & Beyond group were challenged by group leaders to carry three gifts into 2021:

1. Compassion for yourselves. Wherever you are right now, each person individually, you are okay. We don’t need to be farther along than we are. Where you are right now is just fine.

2. Attention. Find a daily ritual you can do for yourself. It’s about finding something meaningful to do like a walk, reading a book, or meditating — just do something for you. Calendar it daily so you don’t miss it.

3. Then, offer the gift of compassion and attention to others. Really make an effort to hear what they are not saying — not just the people in your family, but the people who work at Starbucks, in grocery stores, people you run across in your day. Offer them your compassion and attention, even if it’s for just brief moments. You will make a difference.

People matter to God. Our actions (or inactions) really do affect others and ourselves. Bring those gifts into 2021 with you. The gifts and how you execute them doesn’t have to look the same for everyone — and that’s fine.

If you’re in middle or high school and want to join the Youth Group Zoom meetings for middle school or high school, shoot Mrs. Patti an email. Here’s the schedule: Middle School — grades six through eight — meets Tuesdays from 7 – 7:45 p.m.; High School meets Wednesdays from 7 – 7:45 p.m. The YG’s adult leaders are Mrs. Patti, Mr. and Mrs. Nichols, Mike Olivor, and Joe Miramontes.

See you online!
