Here’s what’s coming up in the St. John’s Youth Groups:
Next meet-ups are March 16 and 17. If you’re a parent and have a sixth grade through college student looking for a place to land, we’ve got you covered. You can get more info from Patti Peebles.
Wednesday, March 24 both groups meet at St. John’s to make palm crosses and munch pizza. Good news: families are welcome to join their youth for this event! And yes, everyone gets to take a cross home with them that night. Just let Mrs. Patti know you’ll attend so we have enough supplies and pizza for all. We’ll be socially-distanced and masked.
Sunday, April 11 we’re going on a group hike, socially-distanced and masked, of course. Details coming.
During this week’s Middle School meet-up, members took a quiz to determine which disciple they are most like, while the High School & Beyond group watched part two of Bishop Rob Wright’s 5-part Lenten series — “What to do When God is Silent?” The answer, Mrs. Patti relayed, is that, “God is in the still small place, in the whisper.” You can watch Bishop Wright’s 5-minute video here.
Here’s the schedule:
• Middle School — grades six through eight — meets Tuesdays from 7 – 7:45 p.m.
• High School meets Wednesdays from 7 – 7:45 p.m.
The YG’s adult leaders are Youth Pastor and School Chaplain Patti Peebles, Mr. and Mrs. Nichols, Mike Olivor, and Joe Miramontes.
