This week’s Youth Group meetings turned into discussions about how to go about learning more about school safety procedures at one member’s public school, and a discussion in the High School & Beyond group about how to love your neighbor when you disagree with them about significant issues. The problem, adult leaders said, is when an individual or a group of people think others with differing views have to be verbally destroyed. Mrs. Patti said, “We can both have our points of view, but we can still be in relationship with people. As Episcopalians we are called to respect all people.”
Next week both groups merge on Wednesday only at St. John’s to make Palm crosses. If you have younger or older kids who want to have a go at making the crosses, please sign up as a family with Mrs. Patti. She needs the head count by Tuesday, March 23 so we can have enough pizza and supplies for everyone. We meet Wednesday, March 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. outdoors at St. John’s, so dress warmly, wear a mask, be ready to social distance, and to have lots of fun!
Mrs. Patti is looking for youth acolytes to serve at Holy Week services including Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Day. Email her for more information.
The next group outing is Sunday, April 11 for a local hike. Watch for more information.
If you’re in middle or high school and want to join the Youth Group ZOOM meetings for middle school or high school, shoot Mrs. Patti an email.
Here’s the ZOOM schedule:
• Middle School — grades six through eight — meets Tuesdays from 7 – 7:45 p.m.
• High School and Beyond meets Wednesdays from 7 – 7:45 p.m.
