Being part of the St. John’s Youth Group isn’t just showing up at a meeting — it’s about contributing something about yourself and being present for others. Sometimes there’s even homework that helps members dig deeper in their faith.
This week members reported back about recently assigned scriptures, sharing with the group what the verse means to them. The assigned verses: Gal 6:9; Ps 119:105; Eph 4:29; Ex 20:12; Mt 11:28-30; Jeremiah 29:11; Deut 31:6; Isaiah 40:29-31; and Proverbs 3:5-6. After everyone shared, Mrs. Nichols wrapped up the scriptures’ common theme, “All the verses are inspirational and remind us God is present for us in ALL our circumstances. These are words of God’s support, strength, encouragement, and are an invitation to rest in God.”
Mrs. Patti told the group about the Bible Gateway app and recommended the Common English Bible version as a super accessible way to look at scripture and easily understand verses.
The next Youth Group ZOOM is Wednesday, July 21. If you’re in Middle School or High School or College and are looking for a place to land, on ZOOM from 7 – 7:45 p.m. To join, or ask questions, get hold of Mrs. Patti.
