by the Rev. Karen Maurer, Associate Vicar

In the spirit of populating the Wine Wall for our upcoming fundraiser, St. John’s will exchange our bottles of water for your bottles of wine at our Saturday and Sunday services this weekend.

Please bring a $30 bottle of wine with you to the service you attend.  We will have a procession in which everyone is presented with a bottle of water from me or Rev. Christopher. Through the power of the Holy Spirit you will be moved to exchange that bottle of water for the wine you purchased for our fundraiser.  Our hope is to collect at least 35 bottles which will raise an additional $1,000 at the fundraiser.

Thank you for your support!

Next Sunday is Gratitude and Ingathering Sunday

On Sunday November 7, in a very tangible way we will celebrate who we are at St. John’s. On that day, with the many other things we will be doing (Blood Drive, Baptisms, and All Saints) we have made it our “Ingathering” Sunday. At all services, including Saturday night before the Fall Fellowship Event, we will present to God, to each other, and to ourselves our Promises of Support to the ministry and to the Church of St. John’s of which we are all beneficiaries. After spending time in prayer and reflection, we promise financial support for 2022 in an amount that allows us to exercise our trust in God. Please bring your envelope with your Promise enclosed to Church on November 6 or 7. Everyone with an envelope will come forward and place it on the altar where they all will be blessed – as we are all blessed when we share in the ministry of the Gospel at St. John’s.
