Learning and discussions in our Adult Forum

Conversations

Join us for a conversation about faith, where our community comes together to learn and grow. At St. John's Episcopal Church, we welcome everyone with open arms and provide a faith-based environment for individuals to engage in meaningful conversations. This is a safe space for you to express your thoughts and explore your spirituality with others.

Adult Forum

Adult Forum

An important component to our individual Christian growth is the opportunity to share our thoughts, questions, concerns, wisdom and curiosity with others in our community of believers. Through reading, reflecting, sharing and listening, we continue our learning journey and also help others in their journey. As members of St. John’s we very much want you to participate in such a learning experience with us.

St. John’s has a long history of offering a meaningful and engaging program of Christian learning for adults. In honoring that tradition, we will offer an Adult Forum on Sunday mornings beginning September 17th. The Forum will be in the Learning Commons from 8:45-9:45 am.

Annual Fundraiser

Annual Fundraiser

The St. John's Church Annual Fundraiser is an event that comes to life by the effort of 25 volunteers that donate their time to participate in different committees. Each year there is a different theme, and it's attended by parishioners and friends. This year we hosted over 120 people. The event offers dinner, silent auctions, live auctions, raffle tickets and a live music show. The proceeds go to help fund all ministries in the church. The 2023 Fundraiser raised over $20,000.00

Women’s Bible Study

Women’s Bible Study

“I am busily engaged in the study of the Bible. I believe it is God’s word because it finds me where I am.” ~Abraham Lincoln

We are happy to be able to offer the women of St. John’s a choice between a weekly Wednesday morning bible study from 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or a once a month Sunday afternoon bible study from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Our Wednesday morning time has been a long-standing tradition at St. John’s, but we realized a bible study was needed for women whose Wednesday mornings are busy with young children or a job that does not free them up during the week. Our once-a-month Sunday afternoon gathering allows these women an opportunity to be able to come together on a monthly basis for study.

Both groups offer the women an opportunity for friendship, along with continued exploration of our faith. The words of the bible speak to each of us differently, depending on where we are in our lives at any given moment. And the result of reading/discussing together is an opening of our ears and hearts to someone else’s perspective.

Both bible studies are facilitated by Linda Allport and hosted by DJ Gomer. If you would like more detailed information, please contact us here.
