Sunday's 10am service at St. John’s was made extra special by the beautiful voices of the St. John’s Kids Choir. Directed by the talented Lisa Naulls, the choir of young singers filled the church with joy and praise, creating an atmosphere that touched the hearts of all in attendance. The children’s performance was not just a display of musical talent but a heartfelt offering of worship and community.
A Family Affair
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the choir’s performance was the family connections that ran throughout the service. Debra Hennings, who accompanied the choir on piano, is not only a skilled musician but also a proud grandmother to Acacia and Jack, two of the choir’s shining members. Acacia, a 3rd grader, and Jack, a 1st grader, are part of the Hennings family legacy at St. John’s, with their parents, Russ and Chrissy Hennings, also actively involved in the church community. It was truly a family affair, with generations coming together to celebrate faith and music.
Voices and Instruments in Praise
The children’s voices echoed through the church as they performed a selection of songs that captured the spirit of the service. Their enthusiasm and sincerity were evident in every note, bringing smiles to the congregation. In addition to singing, the children also played instruments, adding an extra layer of richness and creativity to the performance. The combination of voices and instruments created a lively and joyful experience, reminding everyone of the power of worship through music.
The choir’s dedication to their craft was clear, and their performance was a testament to the hard work and guidance of Director Lisa Naulls. Lisa’s ability to bring out the best in these young performers is truly a gift, and the choir’s performance was a reflection of her passion and leadership.
Fellowship and Fun
After the service, the celebration continued with a sweet treat for the children—a well-deserved reward for their beautiful performance. The kids enjoyed donuts in fellowship, a fun and delicious way to cap off the morning’s activities. It was a time for the children, their families, and the congregation to come together, share in conversation, and celebrate the success of the choir’s performance.
A Grateful Community
We are incredibly proud of the St. John’s Kids Choir and thankful for the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. Special thanks go out to Lisa Naulls for her direction and leadership, and to Debra Hennings for sharing her musical talent and family with the church community.
To all the children in the choir—thank you for sharing your voices and your hearts with us. Your music was a beautiful reminder of the joy and love that exists within our community, and we can’t wait to hear you sing again soon!
Looking Forward
As we move forward, we’re excited to see what’s next for the St. John’s Kids Choir. Their performance yesterday was just the beginning, and we look forward to many more opportunities to hear their voices uplifted in song. Stay tuned for more upcoming performances and events, and let’s continue to support our young musicians as they grow in their faith and talents.
Until then, let’s carry the joy of yesterday’s service with us into the week ahead.
It was a blessing to have them enrich our service today as they and their families worshipped with us.
