The St. John’s Kids Choir, a group of talented young singers filled with enthusiasm and joy, showcased their musical abilities during the 10 am church service on October 6th. This special performance was part of the church's commemoration of NAES, the National Association of Episcopal School's celebration Sunday. The theme of the service, "Let Your Light Shine," was beautifully emphasized throughout the event.
Accompanying the choir were dedicated student readers and acolytes, adding a sense of reverence and participation to the service. The congregation was treated to a soul-stirring experience that combined music, readings, and reflections on the importance of spreading positivity and light in the world.
The service commenced with a captivating singing trio featuring St. John’s teacher, Mrs. Ruth Acosta, and two talented students, Ella Crowell and Audrey Pokrass, from the 6th and 5th grades respectively. Their harmonious voices echoed through the church, setting a tone of unity and celebration.
As the service drew to a close, the atmosphere was lifted even higher by a mesmerizing postlude piano performance by Athena Zhou, a gifted 4th grader whose musical talent left the congregation in awe. The heartfelt melodies filled the sanctuary with a sense of peace and gratitude.
Special thanks were extended to Father Jerry and all those who played a part in organizing and contributing to this heartwarming and uplifting service. Their efforts and dedication truly made this event a memorable and spiritually enriching experience for everyone in attendance.
